about.

Film and theatre critic
based in Athens, Greece.

Informed by theatre studies, and oriented towards postcolonial and queer readings, my research approaches performance and performativity as interdisciplinary palimpsests. The aim remains to thread together texts and images that prove themselves assemblages of art in praxis. I write about theatre and film not as an individuated creation and experience, but the synthesis of a cultural, historical, and philosophical discourse.

My undergraduate thesis focused on expressions of what I term the ‘democratic national’ on postcolonial film. As topographies and temporalities appear to us increasingly fragmented, In Search of National Cinemas documents immediate and dialectic catharses on national screens oriented towards resistance, time and place.

I am currently engaged in scenographic research; a project on the reenactment of the historical topos in the films of Theo Angelopoulos, and an essay tracing somatic and virtual stations of flânerie through modern history.

I hold a Bachelor of Theatre Studies (First-class honours) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and certifications in Drama and Performance from the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama and Guildhall School of Music & Drama. My interests have also led me to collaborate with film festivals in PR and production positions.
